Alpha Giants

Heather Taylor is releasing an alpha pack which, in my humble opinion, is perfect for graphic layouts.

Feather Falls and unexpected treat

With 650ft drop, the Feather Falls is the sixth-tallest waterfall in US. I hope to take more photos in the spring, after the snowmelt and when the sun is higher, to eliminate the ugly shadow casted by a cliff.

what is left of Lake Oroville:

The gnarled, moss covered trees reminded me of Fangorn Forest from Lord of the Rings and I felt like a little Hobbit there, especially after this sweet discovery: a bunch of edible wild mushroom waiting to be picked just by the trail.
I used to go picking wild mushroom as a kid and those looked very familiar. Nevertheless, I consulted a great and respectable authority in this area: my friend Heather who assured me that I will live long after digesting these. :-)
Thanks, my dear!!

Mammoth Lakes and Yosemite in November

It was really hard to sort through and discard any of the pictures from the trip we took 4 weeks ago, that's why it took so long.
We were actually heading to a wedding in the SF Bay Area and this was just a small detour to the other side of Sierra Mountain. What a blast we had!! A photographer's heaven!

Mammoth Lakes photos: here.
Yosemite photos: here.

Christmas mood is everywhere

Once my living room is all clean and ready, the Christmas tree will be up!
Personally, I prefer the "waiting" for Christmas than the holiday itself :-)

Free with any purchase at Mscraps during December, you can get this minikit by Joyce Paul Designs free:

Magic on Yankee Jim Road

Sometimes, the timing can be just right. We saw this yesterday, as we drove on this 4WD road. The light passing through the mist was gone in 30 seconds.
Magic can happen in places other than Disneyland. :-)

Yuletide memories at 2 Peas

Pamela Funk Parr of  Scraps Originals has a very elegant kit Yuletide Memories at Two Peas in a Bucket.

Twin Lakes

Another hike  - Twin Lakes in Western Sierras, southwest from the Lake Tahoe ( they are also Twin Lakes on the Eastern side on the mountains). We wanted to take photos before the snow covers everything. Snowshoes  conveniently forgotten at home; luckily, there was no need for them. Still, I tested the rocky ground about three times when I slipped on some icy spots.

lots of gorgeous photos on my Picasa.

And I'm still working on photos from Mammoths Lakes and Yosemite. Coming soon.

Catching up on challenges at Mscraps

Due to our travels I didn't have much time to participate in the challenges at Mscraps, they are all amazing and there is 10 of them!

Scraplifting Marion's page inspired me to make Fiesta.
My sister and my kids at our summer cottage shortly before they all fell asleep.

Another challenge was a Halloween/autumn photo. Since we totally skipped Halloween this year and I don't like pictures from previous easy choice.
Photo is from Convict Lake in the Mammoth Lakes area. I'm still sorting all 1200+ photos from our fall trip so for now I'm only posting this beauty:

Like the Hitchcock's birds

Yesterday, we drove to Gray Lodge Wildlife Refuge, those birds were so funny, they got easily spooked and literary tens of thousands started lifting off, circling around and screaming their heads off!!!

more photos on my Picasa.

Crops for MOPS

Recently, I wrote Kathleen Summers whom I know from the Designer Digitals forum that I'm her "almost" neighbor from a town next to her. She answered back with: "Wanna come to a local crop - fundraiser?" So I went and we met and I had a lot of fun scrapping and talking! It didn't bother anyone (me the least) that we were the only two computer gals with no scissors and papers and cutting machines.   :-)
How cool is that to meet a digi-friend in person!!
There are more girls around here, closest of them Katrina Kennedy who's blog I subscribe and I learn a lot from it.

Here is the page I made at the event, the second one is in progress

Layouts with Nina's kits

We returned from our trip on Sunday and I barely had time to do the laundry, clean the house, doing stuff for my girl's birthday...I didn't sorted the photos from the trip yet!!

But I managed to catch up on my CT duties and here is something I made with Nina's kits of NinaScrap Designs at Oscraps.
